I am not a New Year’s resolution type. For me, the beginning of summer break has always been a time to review, renew and reset not only my personal but also my business life. With longer days, warmer weather, and all the vivid colors and smells, I get inspired to embark on new adventures, rediscover my backyard, get physical, and learn something new.
Traditionally, this tends to be the same for kids of all ages. Leaving the confines of the classroom for unlimited outdoor play, lax bedtimes and new and exciting encounters is welcome and embraced. This experience always makes me ponder the question, why can’t the classroom be more like summer break and why can’t summer break adopt more of the classroom learning? I don’t believe it is an impossible feat but it is one that takes thought, planning, collaboration and creativity.
So, once again, I find I can not overhaul the education system by myself, nor do I want to (yikes!), but I can help families and communities infuse their summer weeks with unique educational experiences. Some take a little money, but many do not. I am always about the biggest bang for your buck. This newsletter is about information, resources, and great offers to make this summer a perfect blend of fun, enrichment, and educational pizzazz.
