New England Tutors does not view ADD and ADHD as a disability, but as a unique ability that should be more openly embraced in the education community. In support of this belief we’ve just released our latest white paper, “Our Approach to ADD/ADHD.”
In this paper we discuss a complete definition of ADD/ADHD, the effects, the consequences, and quite frankly the utter frustration that some teachers, professionals, and parents encounter when faced with a child or young adult with ADD/ADHD. We’ll also help guide parents in a direction that is geared toward assisting the child positively make his or her own way in the world. Our experience has shown us that many students with ADD/ADHD are extremely intelligent but simply lack the skills necessary to put their intelligence to good use. Paired with one of our tutors that has been trained in the latest techniques of working with ADD/ADHD we’ve seen some of our students have great success at schools such as The Governor’s Academy, Phillips Exeter Academy, and Berwick Academy.
